End of a Season

Last Friday, we had our last days of work at our jobs in Washington. For me (Jenny), it was the end of a five-year stint with the restaurant. Mainly it was a happy day since I am looking forward to starting my time as a stay at home mom; although, no longer financially contributing to our family is a daunting thought (and I will miss being able to work alongside my sister Bethany).

For Daniel, it was a bittersweet day. He was hired back in September of 2018 at Olympia Coffee Roasting Co. and has worked there for the first year of our marriage. It was clear from the start that the Lord opened this door and has used it to provide for us plentifully. The company prioritizes taking care of their employees and serving the community. His coworkers (as well as management) were largely the reason his time spent there was so enjoyable, as they foster a true team mentality.

Jenny’s going to miss her vanilla oat lattes.

The Lord has been faithful to provide us with housing. We’d been praying about the possibility of buying a house and decided we wanted to spend some time in the area first so we can see houses and neighborhoods for ourselves. So, we’d been looking for an apartment and God has provided us with an ideal one (low cost to allow for further saving for a down payment on a house, plenty of space, and a good location). We have close family friends who were kind enough to look at things for us as we looked around, which was immensely helpful and a blessing from God.

So, the last few days have consisted of visiting and saying goodbye to family and last-minute details. Today, with the help of family, we loaded the moving truck and got our second car onto the tow dolly. We drive out bright and early tomorrow morning for the first leg of our journey: fifteen hours of driving to Wyoming, where we’ll spend the night at an air bnb. Friday, we’ll finish out with another fifteen hours and stay the night with friends in Oklahoma City before we move in on Saturday. Any and all prayers are greatly appreciated and, although we are very sad to be leaving our friends and family here, we are looking forward to seeing our friends and the new things God has for us there in this new year!
