Don’t worry everyone, we didn’t crash on our road trip!
We made it to Oklahoma safely! In spite of running into snow, a little ice, and an unexpected, mountainous detour, we made it. We are so glad that Jenny’s sister, Sarah, was willing to take on the 35+ hour (going on eternal) drive with us, giving us a third driver between the two vehicles. God protected us and got us through the heavy snow we encountered and kept us awake when we were tired. We arrived at our friends’ house early on Saturday, the 4th. Our original plan had been to arrive the night before but with the weather and the detour, we added quite a few hours to our drive. We slept for a few hours and then headed over to the apartment into which we were supposed to be moving that day.

However, after we got our keys and took a look at the unit, it became clear that it was not ready for us to move in. There were still several things that needed to be finished before we could move in so, instead, our move-in date was pushed to Monday. After getting our things moved in on Monday, we hit several more bumps along the way; i.e. counter top resurfacing, roaches, and several maintenance-related issues.

As discouraging and difficult as this process has been, God has been good to us. We have been welcomed warmly by the people here, most of whom are families Daniel knows from living here previously. It has been a blessing to reconnect with them and enjoy their fellowship.
Jenny’s had the pleasure of Oklahoma weather this past week, experiencing 72 degrees to 34 degrees in the span of 8 hours, including a downpour that afternoon and snowflakes the next morning. Oklahoma knows how to keep us on our toes!
We are busy getting things ready for the arrival of our baby in late February. We’ve connected with a midwife who will be assisting us in a home birth; prayers for a smooth remainder of the pregnancy and delivery are appreciated.
Daniel has had a couple of interviews so far, with one scheduled for tomorrow, as well. We trust that God will provide just the right job at the right place and time. As easy as it is to get discouraged, we know God is faithful and are blown away by both His past and current goodness to us.

We are so thankful for the people God has put around us and for their support. We cannot imagine what it would be like to be without them right now. We are thankful for the ways in which the Lord is already providing a community for us. Some things that we would like prayer for when you think of us are:
- As we said before, smooth pregnancy and delivery
- That the situations at our apartment would be completely resolved and we would be able to settle in completely (we will never take a lack of cockroaches for granted again!).
- A job for Daniel that is the right place, pay, and time commitment.
- For the future, a house that is the right price, size, and location. Our lease at the apartment is for seven months and our hope is to buy a house after that is up.
- For peace as we settle into a new community, area, and rhythm of life.
Thank you for your prayer and for reading!
