Today, I made myself a mango protein shake as an afternoon pick-me-up. As I usually do, I shared with my little pal who is always willing to help me with whatever it is that I am eating.
As I started giving him spoonfuls, I noticed a trend. Just as soon as I would I fill his mouth, he would start worrying (loudly) about his next bite.

As entertaining as it was, it also served as a humbling reminder of how I often act in my relationship with the Lord.
He provides me with everything I need and, instead of sitting quietly for my next bite (which is always sure to come), I start worrying about whether or not it is actually going to come and how quickly it will come.
In Matthew 6:25, we are exhorted not to worry about the things we will eat or the clothes we will wear. Yet, often, it’s little things like that that fill my thoughts with worry. Later, in Matthew 6:34, we are told, “Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (New International Version).

This season is one that could be filled with many potential worries but, time and time again, we are commanded to not worry and, instead, to trust the Lord.
I am thankful that the Lord is faithful to provide everything I need and that He remains patient with me even when I doubt His goodness.
